Muscle Pain Relief Cream
Simple recipe, homemade and zero waste ;)
2 small spoons of shea butter
2 small spoons of arnica oil
Half small spoon beeswax
6 drops of Peppermint essential oil (known for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic and cooling properties due to menthol content)
6 drops of Lavander Super essential oil (can help relax, sedate and calm muscular spasms)
Other alternative optional essentiel oils: Lemon Eucalyptus (1-3 drops) or Clove (1-2 drops)
1. Put the shea butter, arnica oil and beeswax in a bowl and liquefy by using a double boiler. No boiling water.
If you don't have a double boiler, no problem. All you need is a bowl and a pot.
Use this link on How to Fake a double boiler->
2. Once the mix is melted, add the essential oils slowly to be sure the scent is to your liking. Don't let the oils boils, maintain low temperature.
3. Transfer the mix on a small glass jar and let it cool down for a couple of hours.
4. Use only a small amount for massage whenever your muscles need it.
For me the KEY ingredient here it's the Arnica Oil, it has incredible anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It has actually surprised me at how much it reduces pain when applied constantly. It's importante to massage, not only apply, so the oils penetrate the layers of the skin and make their way into the bloodstream.
Thanks for reading and I hope you this can offer some relief :)
